Ferro Silicon Zirconium Alloy is an additive for special steel smelting as a deoxidizing and desulfurizing material. It is an off-white, hard, lustrous transition metal that is very similar to hafnium and slightly less similar to titanium. Zirconium is used primarily as a heat retardant and shading agent, with small amounts of zirconium used as an alloying agent due to its high corrosion resistance. Zirconium is ductile at room temperature, but at lower purity levels it is hard and brittle. Zirconium is highly flammable in powder form, but not in solid form. Zirconium is non-corrosive and is highly resistant to acids, alkalis, brines and other substances, but dissolves in hydrochloric and sulfuric acids.

Zirconium alloy is an alloy composed of zirconium based on other elements, which has good corrosion resistance in high temperature and high pressure water and steam at 300~400℃ and good compatibility with nuclear fuel, so it can be used as the core structural material of water-cooled nuclear reactor. Due to its small thermal neutron absorption cross-section, metallic zirconium has excellent nuclear properties. Nuclear grade zirconium is used as structural material for nuclear power aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines and civil power reactors, as well as for cladding of uranium fuel elements.
